Clare Skinner
About the speaker


Clare has worked in the academy sector since 2013. Starting out in a four-form entry middle school in Worcestershire, then moving into a six-form entry secondary school with 6th Form in South Birmingham. Since January 2025, Clare has taken up the role of CFOO in the newly formed West Midlands Academy Trust. Her roles have seen her leading on finance, HR, estates, GDPR, H&S, network and marketing.

Clare has a degree in Business Administration, Level 5 Diploma in School Business Management and Level 7 Diploma in School Finance & Operational Leadership. Clare has also held the roles of governor, chair of governors, trustee and is currently member on a small MAT in Worcestershire. 


She is passionate about the vital role SBPs play in the education sector and a keen advocate for the development and recognition of those undertaking the roles.
