In a period of national workforce challenge, creating a strong people strategy is no longer a nice-to-have.  It is central to stability, improvement and growth.  In this session, Sharon Carlyon shares how her trust has intentionally designed its people strategy to create belonging, grow talent and enable high performance across the workforce.

Grounded in development, wellbeing, workload and staff voice, this session looks at how a coaching-led and inclusive approach can move beyond traditional CPD and help people choose to stay, grow and succeed.  Sharon will explore the practical steps her trust has taken to invest in its people, and the measurable difference this has made to retention, recruitment, staff satisfaction and wider organisational success.

About the speaker

Sharon is an experienced executive leader with a strong track record in school business operations. Currently chief operating officer of a multi-academy trust, she provides strategic leadership across all business functions, aiming to improve educational experiences and pupil outcomes. Sharon has led regional networks, mentored emerging leaders and contributed to national initiatives. She is a fellow of ISBL and member of CST’s policy advisory group, and has received national recognition for her impact.
