Smarter Estates Planning for the Next Decade
What the DfE’s new Education Estate Strategy means for planning, funding and renewal
The DfE’s new Education Estate Strategy signals something bigger than another policy update. it's a decade of education estates renewal, but what are the next steps for estates professionals? The strategy points to a more structured, data-led and accountable approach to how school and trust estates are managed, funded and renewed over the next decade. For those leading estates on the ground, that brings both pressure and opportunity. Expectations around data quality, condition reporting and strategic planning are rising, and those who are not prepared risk being on the back foot when it comes to funding, prioritisation and long-term estate decisions. In this session, Jonathan Jones cuts through the detail and focuses on what matters in practice. He will explore what the strategy, the new Manage your Education Estate portal and common data standards are likely to mean for estates professionals, and how schools and trusts can respond in a way that strengthens planning, supports investment cases and puts them in a better position for the years ahead.
In this session we explore
• What the Education Estate Strategy is really signalling for schools and trusts
• What the new Manage your Education Estate portal means in practical terms
• Why better estates data is becoming business-critical, not just administrative
• The likely implications for capital funding, prioritisation and future bids
• How to position your organisation more strongly for investment and renewal
