A safe and effective school estate depends on more than completing checks and responding to faults. Leaders must constantly decide how statutory duties, deteriorating buildings, operational disruption and future improvements should be balanced when every issue appears important and not everything can be addressed at once.
This session examines estates management as a leadership discipline. About the speaker
Matt McIver is Chief Operating Officer at Cidari Multi Academy Trust, he has wide-ranging responsibility for trust operations, including estates, HR, marketing and PR, health and safety, procurement and trust development.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Matt is also a key contributor to the trust’s strategic vision and financial planning, bringing together operational, financial and organisational priorities to support effective decision-making and sustainable growth. His role gives him direct experience of managing the complex operational demands of a multi-academy trust, while ensuring systems, resources and services continue to support schools effectively.
